Making San Antonio

It started with a simple ask, “can you jump in on a project as a replacement editor?”. The H. E. Butt Foundation had been working to capture a unique presentation from a geography professor about the history of housing in San Antonio. That’s where it started, but not where it ended. We combed archives (this happens a lot) for unique images and documents and put together a full film without Fourth Line Films shooting a single frame. But, the story doesn’t end there. In that process it became clear there was more to discover. Currently we are deep into production on chapter 2, a more contemporary exploration of housing affordability in San Antonio that includes documentary vignettes and expert interviews.
